What makes us different: Many patients have tried physio in the past ……. so why are we different?
At Bodyworks Physiotherapy, we analyze your unique biomechanics and determine the actual cause of your pain therefore treatment can not only alleviate the immediate symptoms, but also prevent the pain from returning by addressing the underlying factors responsible for the pain.
We have developed a unique assessment and treatment approach which is foundered on scientific principles yet easily understood. You will leave your first consultation with a clear explanation about “why” you are in pain and a structured plan as to what needs to be done to fix it….not just for the short term but for good.
You will NOT be hooked up to a series of machines and left while your therapist attends to the needs of others.
You will receive “hands-on”, manual treatment and be given the opportunity to participate in our exercise classes or to have individual Pilates-influenced exercises tailor-made for your specific needs. The exercise programs can be an important component of curing such conditions as chronic lower back pain as you will likely need to develop new movement habits and, just like learning a new serve at tennis or altering your golf swing, the best results are obtained by having a “coach” oversee your practice to make sure you get it right!
You will be involved in your recovery and be given all the education and tools to prevent re-occurrence of your pain.
At Bodyworks we have also had proven success with chronic conditions that are not often thought to be musculoskeletal in nature such as disc prolapses (ruptured discs, herniated discs, slipped discs), degenerative joint disease, migraine, restless leg syndrome, carpal tunnel and sciatica. These conditions often have a component to them that result from poor movement patterns and resultant muscle spasm. With thorough analysis and an ability to “think outside the square”, Bodyworks therapists are usually able to identify and treat conditions that have failed to respond to other therapy or medical intervention.
Bodyworks Physiotherapy was established on the Northern Beaches of Sydney in 1998 with the primary goal of providing an unprecedented level of care for clients with sports injuries and other musculoskeletal disorders. With a focus on hand-on therapy and one-on-one attention, Bodyworks has established itself in the area as one of the best known centres for physical health. Its broad range of services caters for all ages and physical capacity…..from paediatrics to geriatrics and from the weekend warrior to the elite athlete.
In 2007 Bodyworks Physiotherapy was chosen as the physiotherapy providers for the stunt athletic group, Nitro Circus Live and has undertaken national and international tours with the team since that time.
Bodyworks Physiotherapy has an enviable reputation for managing complex and chronic spinal pain as well as a growing portfolio of elite sports management and individual sports performance. At Bodyworks Physiotherapy we believe that all our clients deserve the same quality of care that is provided to our elite athletes and that it is our responsibility to insure that we achieve the best possible physical function.
Travis Pastrana writes: “After a month of working with Bodyworks Physiotherapy, I was able to live pain free for the first time in many years. All the doctors had told me my back was “chronically inflamed and that pain would only be put to rest with extensive surgery”. I am happy to say that I learned a great deal about how my body works and where I need to go to fix it!” (Travis Pastrana is an American motorsports competitor and stunt performer who has won championships and X Games gold medals in several events, including supercross, motocross, freestyle motocross, and rally racing).
