Louise undertook a Masters of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney following the completion of a bachelor of health sciences. She commenced at Bodyworks Physiotherapy in the “new Graduate” program and quickly learnt to swim in the deep end (we have a saying at Bodyworks, “there is no shallow end”!).
Louise found the unique approach of the biomechanical model used by staff at Bodyworks enabled her to be an incredibly effective and impactful therapist and she enjoys treating the whole gamut of musculoskeletal conditions that our clients offer. She is the manager of the Bodyworks Physiotherapy practice at Terrey Hills, working in conjunction with 3 general practitioners and a psychologist.
Louise has developed a particular interest in lower limb biomechanics and the effect of foot function on lower limb complaints including plantar fasciitis, knee arthritis and hip pain. To better serve her clients she has become proficient with the “GaitScan” technology which enables her to accurately assess foot mechanics and, where appropriate, prescribe podiatry-quality orthotics at a fraction of the price that podiatrists charge. She is also proficient in the dry needling technique for muscle relaxation.
Louise has experienced a variety of event work such as working with Nitro Circus Live, the USA vs Canada Ice Hockey tours and music industry celebrities such as The Hilltop Hoods.
Louise has a personal bucket list to attend as many World Cup sports events as possible and hopes to see a World Cup match for each world cup sport. Between events she can be found at the gym, doing thai boxing and even a little celtic dancing!
